If Iran and Syria are behind Hezbollah, do you know who's behind Israel? It's the USA. This is one.

Second, I am sure Israel cannot attack Iran and Syria now because its army is already facing real troubles just fighting against Hezbollah, so what if it launches a real war against two relatively strong countries?

The root of this whole problem is that Israel is so greedy. It wants to expand and acquire other people's lands and violate their rights. And when they resist, it forces the world media to describe them as terrorists and never to allow their viewpoint and their sufferings to be published. And behind the scenes there is America, the country that is always hunting for crude oil and that finds it entirely plausible to launch wars and kill thousands of people on both sides just for the sake of some extra barrels of oil. How indecent!

Israel is already fighting on 2 fronts, they proved during the 6 day war they could handle there own but it wouldnt be worthwhile at this time. besides if the war spread that far it would be way to easy for other arab countries in the region to say this was an attack on islam and escilate it very quickly into a true world war. Hezbollah was CREATED by iran and it has ben proven that they are also funded and armed by Iran. The rest of the world is putting pressure on Iran right now Israel is better off dealing with the symptoms while the rest of the civalized world puts pressure on the disease

It's not quite that simple. Syria and Iran provide training, money etc.. however, Hezbollah is the one that carried out the actions of terrorism. Hezbollah is actually be hung out to dry hear not that don't deserve what their getting but Syria and Iran will say they had nothing to do with Hezbollah kidnapping the Israeli soldiers.

A. It is hard to PROVE that they are behind Hezbollah
B. It would be a far harder fight and involve more Israeli casualties
C. It would cause a major war in the middle east, as each country picks sides
D. Limited resources
E. Israel wants to get rid of Hezbollah (the actual terrorists, rather than merely the suppliers of the terrorists)
F. It looks better to the international community if the terrorists are the ones being attacked, not the nearby countries

They (the Israeli) want the rabid neo-con cohort currently infesting our white house to attack Iran for them ......

Especially as Iran may have a nuke or two nor they do not want Iran sending any missiles loaded with nuclear waste being sent towards tel avid.

They at least understand that for them to attack Iran it could very well escalate the secular and religious violence to include India, Pakistan and Turkey in an area wide spread of nuclear conflict.

When the USA attacked Sunni controlled Iraq it shattered the fragile balance of power of Muslims over there in the Middle East and the current void of secular population controls could never be healed by a democratic process when the centuries old issues are mostly religious.

And, yet the neo-cons over in Israel did not learn from our mistakes but, having watched the slow but sure failure of the USA in Iraq and having watched the slow build up of armaments along their borders chose to act while the USA still has massive troop strength over there.

Unfortunately, they do not like losing troops so used aerial bombing as a primary strategy and the support of their public allowed them to go overboard and blindly destroy Lebanon's infrastructure which will cripple the secular powers over there that would have supported any thoughts of peace with Isreal.

The increased poverty, starvation and deaths will just serve to create many more terrorists against them and us for supporting them.

I believe it's because they are not on their borders and are not directly attacking them. Also, Iran is probably to powerful for Israel to defeat. (Unless the U.S. were 100% behind them), in which case they would probably come out on top. I also believe that is what will eventually happen. The U.S. has always backed Israel and always will, no matter how powerful their enemy is. Iran claims to have nuclear weapons of mass destruction, but I believe it is in it's infancy and if we were to attack now (oon Israel's behalf) we would be victorious. Very Good Question. Very Hard Answer

You can't just attack two countries, one of which may have nuclear warheads. It may eventually get that way, maybe eventually involving us
