Does any one think America would have given up even 1 life (of an American anyway) to rid Iraq of the Butcher of Baghdad? And since the oil is running out and Empires need fuel Bush and his Cabal of Evil had to lie.
And never forget that during the Presidency of Runny Rayguns Donald (Big Torture) Rumsfeld was in Iraq delivering unto Saddam Hussein the chemical weapons he used against the Iranians and his own people.

Because they LIED so that they would get American civilian support for the war. They needed excuses to get us into this war. The republican top officials (Condi, Powell, etc) have made approx 237 LIES or misleading statements to get public support for this war.
Just one more reason Bush, Cheney, and ALL of the high officials who lied us into this war should be impeached and tried for TREASON.
Furthermore, the Downing Street Memos conclusively prove that the Bush Co. pretty much was looking for any excuse to get us into this war. Oh well, it's not Bush's daughters dying over in Iraq.....

Let me see if I can make sense of this. Saddam was famous for using WMD's on his own people. Americans love to say that. So if he was such a ruthless man and he had WMD's why did he not use them on us when we invaded his country. Did he think that we would not take over his country if he did not use them on us. That must be it. Saddam said to his generals " Don't use the WMD's and we might be able to stay in power". That was a really bad plan if that's what happened.

Because they were willing to say or do anything to justify going to war in Iraq, including lie and strongarm members of the intelligence community to lie as well, even though they knew better. It's no wonder Colin Powell quit in disgust.

Because they wanted an excuse to invade and get their hands on the Iraqi oil fields and make Dubya look good that he could take down someone that Daddy Bush couldn't/didn't want to eliminate.

Because they believe in the "noble lie" and they believe that if they keep repeating it, Americans will believe them. A lie is the truth as long as it is believed.
Sadly, about 40% or so of this country still believes the words that come out of these peoples' mouths.

you should ask the liberated Iraqi voters who now don't have a dictator executing them and raping their daughters and different halves, and spending distinctive the international places money on palaces for himself that question...i imagine it is interesting how human beings say it truly is a warfare for oil. we live on the land of the native americans. we benefit from america which the slaves helped to build for free.
and semi-slaves under jim crow also helped to build america.

they were going to war no matter what, and needed to find excuses to get approvals from others. it's a tough sell to go to war so lies in this case had to be told.
