not that ppl like neyo or ciara are bad, im jus sayn i think R&B was at its peak in the 90s bc nothin can compare to the early R.Kelly or Jaheim or Joe or 112 or Jon B. or 100 other ppl i can think of

i agree that it was awesome im the 60s but im saying for my generation i guess (im 19) what we would remember lol but ur right nothin compares at all wit marvin gaye or the temptations

but my question is directed towards r&b of my generation

yeah, i think rap and r&b peaked for our generation in early to mid 90s and has been slowly spiraling downward since.

I completely agree with you. R&B was at it's peak in the 90's. Jon B, old DC, post convicted R.Kelly, Tony Rich, Babyface, etc. Those were the days. R&B nowadays is so hip-hop and rap infused that it's not really R&B.

To each his own. I love the late 60's and 70's. Each generation has it's place in music. A classic is a classic, regardless of it's age. Just enjoy and appreciate music for what it is. Have a great day!

I agree with you 90"s was at its peak for hip hop.R kelly in his prime. boyz to men,swv,jodeci,it was alot better than.
