there used to be alot of dust flowing in my room and now that the wall is seald, the cd drive might be dirty. it kept opening by itself too.impatience mademe push it in manually.

Sounds like the drive is dirty, you can buy a CD cleaner disc most places for under $5.00 just follow the instructions included with the ckeaner disc

Also, it is perfectly fine to put the drive closed, AS LONG as you don't use excessive force. The drives are made to close either by software or manually

I agree with what's already been said, but to add to it, do NOT use a CD cleaner with the small brush. At least, not at THIS stage. Dust on the lens could scratch the lens. Rather, buy a can of compressed air (walmart, radio shack, or any other store that sells computer stuff carries them), and spray air inside the CD case to try to blow out all the loose dust first.

Forcing it closed will ware out the motor inside the animal. then you would have to buy a new one. clean all the Cd's real well then try that if not then yea get a new CD player installed oh yeah don't forget the Cd's u have might be scratched up and have finger prints on them,,,

It very well could be dirty. Have it cleaned...if that doesn't work buy a new one.
