I had a wrist injury last year and in came on just after I bought a new racket so your head heavy racket could definately be the reason behind it. Also I talked to a doctor about mine and the said the best things to do are A) Rest it for 2 weeks with no tennis and B) Buy a proper wrist support from a tennis source. These two things can help a lot. Also if you haven't already buy a string dampener and next time you string the racket ask to have it strung at a lower tension. Also the final thing that I find helps is to wear a rubber wrist band, like those charity support ones people wear because that absorbs some shock from going up the arm. Hope it helped!

Here are some tennis injuries that I have experienced and are pretty common: heat exhaustion, MCL strain, tennis elbow, turf toe, and ankle sprain. With the exception of the last two, all were easily preventable. When I first begin playing tennis I only had time in the afternoons to play. Summers in Oklahoma are very hot, and the combination of little water and concrete courts took their toll on me. Make sure you drink plenty of water before, during and after your matches. Especially if you're in the sun. And take a breather every once in a while. And I can't overstress the importance of stretching before you play.
Correct technique is also very important. If you're experiencing tennis elbow it's almost certainly because you're using an incorrect grip or your grips too big. I sprained my MCL because my service motion was poor. Good technique will not only cut down on injuries but will improve your game.
I think turf toe and sprains are just part of the game, doubly so on concrete/asphalt courts. Wearing a good shoe will help a lot. Ankle braces can be a good precaution also.

You can mass up your shoulder, knee, hip, foot, anything you can mess up. Especially in tennis because you are running around banging your feet on the hard court, that can't be good for anything or anyone.

and tennis elbow is pretty serious, it hurts when you gets older. good way to prevent it is to use soft strings, and put damper on the string to absorb the shock.
