I have several "best friends", as in close friends. These are the people i talk to on an almost daily basis. I spend time with them and their families. I share almost everything with my friends, and im not afraid to discuss any topic. There are times in which I find it difficult to find time for too many people though. So...I ask all of you....Is it possible to have more than a handful (3-5) of close, best friends? How many close friendships to you have?

I understand that our friends change as we grow and age, but that does not affect the number of close friends we share our lives with.

I have several best friends... almost like I have different ones for different situations. We all compliment eachother differently... I know who I can call for what situation, which is "best" for what problem I'm having or adventure I want to go on. I'd say I have 6 "Best friends"

The term "best friend" doesn't mean just one anymore and it doesn't really mean "the best" anymore either.. It's definately possible to have more than one best friend. I agree with you though, I think "best friend" just means "close friend" now. And it'd be even better if all of you were best friends with each other, then all of you could hang out at the same time and make it easier to spend time with everyone.

One is ideal, 2 or 3 is okay, more than that is just weird.
