Needs a freon charge, which means it probably has a leak cause a good contained freon unit on a fridge should last the lifetime of the fridge

Window Unit or Central air? If central air, the blower could work but the 220 breaker for the compressor tripped. Check that first. If window unit, hmmm something much more sinister is going on .

Freon, honey, freon, call an air conditioner company and they will send you someone to fill the freon tank. It cost you about $50.00 to $60.00 dollars.

Is the compressor running? If so then you need to have a professional check the refrigerant pressure. If low it may have leaked out. Is this an old unit? If old it may not be worth fixing, but you need a professional opinion.

freon is the best answer but there is a little thing called a reversing valve..it sometimes gets stuck and there would be a problem.....happened to us one summer, service guy filled the freon and still not cold enough and found the reversing valve was stuck..........fixed it and stayed cold!......good luck

pass forward and close the doors and domicile windows earlier you turn on the air conditioner! in case you're blowing chilly air out your vents, then is might desire to have the skill to chill out the domicile till you have lots air leakage into your place which you fairly have open doors and domicile windows. in the different case you have no insulation in the domicile and lower back the warmth benefit is larger then the technique of the A/C to conquer.

If this is an outdoor, whole house unit, make sure there are no leaves or cottonwood fuzz in the unit outside. Had that happen and it doesn't work!
