Put the cravat around your neck, then loop the two end into a ring, then draw the ring up to a comfortable position: ie. not too tight. About thirty years ago, I had a bone ring specially made.

You don't tie a cravat. You cravat a tie.

i have a cravat with a clip on, u don't need to tie it....
