Surge Protector
Portable Music Device
Sheets and Pillow Cases (two sets extra long twin)
Towels
Pillows (2)
Blankets (2)
Laundry Bag
Stain Remover
Laundry Detergent
Pepto-Bismol

Remember to check with the school. Some schools may not allow items like microwaves, while some schools provide them for you. Also know space may be very limited so get what you absolutely need first, then get some of the extras when you have the chance.

20-point checklist
Stores such as Bed Bath & Beyond and Linens 'n Things offer extensive lists and helpful hints for college-bound students on their Web sites. The dorm experts cast their eyes over a list of BB&B's college tips and had a few comments.
1. You can postpone doing laundry until you run out of underwear and socks. Bring lots of each.
2. Bring a bathrobe, shower shoes and shower caddy for that long walk from showers to the dorm room. "Definitely, a nice bathrobe is key – you see tons of people on your way into and out of the shower."
3. Bring your favorite sports equipment.
4. Is the school in a hot or cold climate? Will you need thermal underwear, gloves and hats, or sandals and extra bathing suits? "A comfy pair of sweats is a good idea, even in the early fall, because you usually can't do anything to adjust the temperature in your room."
5. Because you will be living on your bed, your comforter needs to be washable. Check the tag.
6. Put a dry-erase message board on your dorm room door so others can leave messages for you. (An emphatic "Yes" to this idea from the college kids.)
7. Keys: Be sure to have an extra set of room and car keys.
8. Make two copies of everything in your wallet: Keep one copy in your dorm room, the other at home.
9. Memorize your Social Security number. You will need it more times than you can imagine. In college, you ARE your Social Security number.
10. Bring earphones for your radio, stereo or TV. It keeps the techno fans and classical music aficionados compatible.
11. Take a spare pair of glasses, contact lenses and copies of all your prescriptions.
12. Rolls of quarters are a hot college commodity, needed for laundry, sodas and parking meters. ("Yes, and the dollar bill changer is always broken." )
13. Assemble a small tool kit, filled with the essentials. Put your name on these items; they will be borrowed.
14. Go light on the photos and memorabilia from high school. "Some college freshmen seem to focus entirely on high school."
15. Stamps come in handy for paying bills.
16. Stock up on individual packets of mayonnaise, mustard, sugar, sweetener – condiments for those midnight snacks.
17. Have a mini-pantry of snacks; you will have lots of unexpected visitors.
18. Duct tape, a hot-glue gun and super-adhesive glue will fix just about anything.
19. Batteries – you can never have enough.
20. Put the school decal on the back window of your parents' car. They will think of you every time they get in the car.

1.Laundry totes, baskets, etc.
2. Liquid laundry detergent, to lessen the weight. Just fill an emptied water bottle with a spout with the detergent.
4. Iron and Hanging Ironing Board
5. Bedding
6. Cell Phone
7. Alarm Clock
8. Towels!!!
9. Medicines/Pain pills/etc.
A basic first aid kit is great
10.umbrella
11. bath soap, liquid hand soap, shampoo, razor, brushes, blow dryer, toilet paper, facial tissue, cosmetics, etc.
12. shower shoes and something in which to carry toiletry items to the bathroom.
13.Basic School Supplies
14. Clothes to last you until fall break (you won't have a lot of space...get others later)

**For major purchases/items talk to your roommate. You'll need to figure out about a microwave/television/fridge/CD Player. You both won't need to bring these.

Virtually all home good stores have checklists of things to bring for "back to school". Try the websites for Bed Bath & Beyond or Linens N Things. Just remember, they are there to sell you stuff, you don't actually NEED all the items on the list, they are just suggested guidlines.

Your school's housing department probably has a packet of suggested items as well. You could call them.

first of all, congrats on entering into college. it particularly is getting greater good on a daily basis! i began at a school final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, and could proceed to exist campus lower back this semester. My suggestion: do not carry too lots. carry what you recognize you will use. Dorm rooms are VERY small! do not carry a good sort of garments, in simple terms like 20 outfits, plus some nicer ones and a few exercising ordinary outfits. carry A CALENDAR!!! fairly helps! carry a whiteboard to jot down on too, they arrive in reachable for different individuals to jot down directly to assert hi or so which you will undergo in innovations something. undergo in innovations (till you're going out of state) you may pass lower back domicile in case you forgot something you truthfully want. desire this helps!

You're going to want to try to have a mini-fridge, unless you plan on spending tons of money on campus food. You will also want a trunk, to put things you don't want a roomate rummaging through
