I assume a Dimension 4550 as you didn't specify - a 4550 WHAT?

Just buy a new hard drive and replace your existing drive. You can use software such as Ghost to image your existing drive to the new drive so you don't have to reinstall Windows. But if you would prefer, you can just install the new drive and reinstall Windows.

You can have hard drives larger than 128 GB, but you MAY - MAY - need to upgrade the BIOS on the computer OR buy a $20 card that allows you to use drives larger than 128 GB.

If you want additional help, I suggest you try asking this question on a site that encourages two-way communication, unlike this site which encourages a bunch of fast, often incomplete answers with NO NOTIFICATION of any updates or responses you MAY make in response to the half-baked answers often suggested here. Sites like www.tek-tips.com or www.experts-exchange.com encourage two way communication so you can actually get a GOOD, COMPLETE answer.

I have a Dell 8200 desktop. It has1152 rams of memory. I have a 250 hard drive as F drive and on C drive 160 hard drive. You have to order memory through Dell so it will be compatable with your computer. You can put new memory in while you leave old memory in. If you put in anything bigger than 120GB hard drive you have to go into your Bios and change something. I took mine to an expert that set it up for me.

You seem to be confusing memory (RAM) with storage capacity (HD size). I can't think of any reason your computer would limit the size of the drive to 130Gb. If you want to add a drive it should be easy, just put it in. If you want to swap drives, you'll have to load the OS onto the new one, then swap it.
