To be honest it sounds like your company has gone bust and no-one has told you yet.
It is unlikely in this situation that you are going to get paid, in the UK there is some government protection for redundancy situations due to businesses going under - but not a lot.
I would talk to Citizen's Advice Bureau and get assistance asap.
Also the comment about taking stuff from the company - it's not actually that bad an idea, at least then you'll have some surety against not being paid but if you get caught it's still theft and you can be prosecuted for it.

Who is in charge of payroll? Who is the supervisor in the owners abscence? Check with all these people first write down what they say and when you asked. Then allow 2 weeks to go by if you have not been paid by then I would get a lawyer or contact the labor unions.

you have to write to them officially first and say you havnt been paid and are owed your wages, and ask them to contact you and advise when your wages will be paid. I would also put in your letter that as you havent been paid or told therwise, you are taking the lack of wages payment as indication that you have been laid off work and are not expected to attend. if they do not reply (and you have to wait 4 weeks unfortunately) then you can make a claim to the govt and eventually you might et some of it back. But the best plan is to make sure you wirte the letter or you cant make a claim, and start looking for another job. Happened to me - I know it isnt nice so best of luck!

Quit as soon as possible--you could be held financially liable. Consult an attorney to see if you need to do anything like publish a disclaimer in the newspaper. Don't expect to ever get the money for your time. Something funny is going on--probably the owners skipped town with the money or are bankrupt and cheating on taxes or something. You don't want to be there when it all comes down.

If no-ones been in contact as to why, there could be a cash flow problem in the company. Got to the union you are a member of, and ask them to represent you and ask a few questions. Owners of businesses dont see normal employees as important enough to speak to (in some companies, mind. Not all of them) because there is so many. Stick with your union, and you should be ok

I would suggest you contact your State Labor Relations Board and let them know about this. In the meantime, I wouldn't go to work. Why should you? You're not collecting any paycheck, so you're essentially working for free.
If everyone fails to show up for work, perhaps the owners will take notice and contact you.

You should contact the better business bureau. I am not sure if you should keep working. You should ask the bureau what you should do in this situation. Thats terrible. Also, find another job quick!

I would suggest you call the police in the area where you work. Something serous may have happened to them. Another (grim) possibility is that they have skipped out of the area, but if they are normally reliable & this is the first time something like this has occurred, it may be something entirely out of their control

If you have an employee handbook look to see if they put the pay schedule in it. If they haven't been paying according to the schedule go to the labor board. They are required to pay you for the work performed. Be careful about not showing up to work because if they can prove that they were going to pay you according to their schedule and you stopped showing up to work then they can deny your unemployment.
