This situation deals more with maturity than age.
I started wearing contacts when I was 13, and starting High School.
Contacts are a challenge for the younger ages, as it was for me.
If you're dealing with a responsible and mature youth over the age of about 12 or 13, I would say, GO FOR IT!
Before doing that, I would ask them how interested in contacts they are on a scale of 1-10. I personally was a 9, but that's only because I was playing football (and glasses are a pain in the butt!!). If the number stated is under 5 or 6, then maybe they should put off contacts until they're a little older.
Thank you.

Really I don't think it's a certain age when me and my mom went to the eye doctor, for my contacts he said his daughter started wearing contacts at 11. It just depends on the person and there parents. At first my mom didn't think I could handle contacts. But there not hard to handle, you just gotta be comfortable touching your eyes. But I think about 13 or 14 is good, but if you feel you can do it even younger( then go for it), it wouldn't hurt to try.

I don't really think it matters how old you are, but you should wear glasses for at least a year before thinking about contacts. Also, one of my sister's friends said that when she talked to her eye doctor about contacts, the doctor asked her if she kept her room clean. This was a way, I guess, to determine whether or not she was responsible enough to wear contacts.

Ask the eyedoctor but you should at least be wearing your glasses for awhile before you should get contacts. Also, it depends on what your parents say. But I got my contacts when I was 10 or 11 because both my parents and eyedoctor said it was okay

I had to initiate donning glasses on the age of 14 so I understand the place you're coming from. i'm now 40 8 and see the two your area and his. Did you ever as quickly as ask your self how plenty contacts will value? in case you have brothers and sisters then your mothers and fathers are probable torn between supplying you with what you like and making beneficial the full family participants has what it desires. Get a factor time activity and help them get you what you "choose". as long as they love you and grant what you "choose" you rather have not have been given any agency making it tougher for them. I grew up in a family participants the place we had to earn our very own money for what we necessary. as quickly as we grew up we discovered to cost what we had and we additionally discovered the thank you to cost our mothers and fathers for what they did provide us, love and guidence. some infants in the worldwide are with out love and oldsters, plus they're fortunate to get nutrition frequently taking place. that's relatively helpful to get excitement from what you have and stop annoying approximately what your friends have or have not got. save compairing your life with your friends will make for a depressing life.

I started at 12. But you have to be responsible. I was... and still am, so I haven't had any problems. I would ask your parents to talk to a doctor about what would be right for you! =)

I'd go by maturity rather than age. If you're mature enough to be able to take care of them every day, put them in and take them out and not stab your eye out.
