With this heat and humidity my pool water feels more like bath water. How do I cool off my water so that we may enjoy it?

with an avg. of 15,000 gals in a pool ice will not do anything...we had one for 10 yrs.....i fixed ours by buying a tarp, 20 x 20 and some 3/4" pvc.....designed a half moon cover over most of the pool......the shaded water really cooled down the unshaded part, felt like it dropped it 15 deg.

note: keep it above the water about 4 ft to allow the air to move, this is what really cools it along with the shade.

Good question... but Im not sure how to cool it down. I have an above ground pool too and I have noticed the same thing about our pool being really warm!

Attach a mister hose around the sides of the pool. (But check with city if you have water restrictions like we do here in Texas in most of our cities.)Run it while you are using the pool. Turn off when not.

Clean out 2 liter bottles and gallon jugs. Fill them with water and freeze them. Throw them in the pool. Refreeze every night.

Invest in a fountain. There are a number of retrofit varieties available. Easy to install and fairly inexpensive. HINT: They cool much better if you run them after dark.

depends on the size of your pool, but there are all sorts of awnings, easy to assemble these days ... to throw shade on it ... or go to the company who installed your pool and ask them for their professional advice which should cost nothing, and then at least you have the professional's angle to consider
