what if people think your gangster and your not, but only dress like it. How can you gain their trust back? remember, you just dress like one. you don't act or hang out with one.

Why do you feel need to dress like a gangsta if you're not gonna be one...be yourself ...it's all a stupid act anyway...I hate that crap...gangsta life is childish and dreamy...not that you live that way...it's just I'm glad your not and you are in reality ...life doesn't have to be as tough as they make in the hood....make a difference

Dress like a gangster and get treated like a gangster, that's just life, dude. Try sharpening up your act a little and see what that does for your image. You will be amazed at how differently people act toward you.

You dress the way you want to be treated. You dress for the job you want, you dress for success, you dress for failure.
If you dress like a gangster ask yourself why? Is it because you like their lifestyle? You like the image? If you want to look like one, you will treated like one.
It may not be fair, but it's the way it is. Since you cannot speak to everyone you encounter, you present yourself to people by your appearance. You represent who you are.
Just like a company when they choose a logo, they want one that will instantly tell people what they are all about, or what they represent.
A religious organization would not have a burning skull as a logo just because they like the way it looks, it doesn't represent who they are. Can you imagine Babies R Us having a Sword and dragon as a logo, just because the owner really likes swords and mythology? It wouldn't represent his intentions very well would it?
Dress the way you want to be treated.

People will always judge you by the image 'YOU' project. If you dress like a construction worker with a hard hat.....they think you work in construction. If you dress like a preppy rich kid ....they automaticly think you're smart and will be successful. If you dress like a gangster they automaticly think "looser" and don't trust you. Thats because most gangsters, before you, ended up later being street bum loosers with a criminal record.
LEARN FROM THIS....if you're going to copy anyone....why copy a looser? It ain't in your favour.

Don't dress the part then. Dress preppy or goth instead. :)
Or... Just be yourself. You're not a "gangstah," so just wear some "neutral" kind of clothes. Don't get dragged down into a stereotype! Why would you want to be lumped into a group like that anyway? They're known for violence, drugs, and just crime in general. When someone looks at you, you want them to see you as a respectable individual, someone they can trust, not as someone who segregates themself into a negative (anti)social group. Don't let that kind of image represent the real you. :)

Mm...approach them slowly, show them you're not what they think you are...
Do something nice to them, it won't be easy...but you can try...
Maybe you can change your style 1st for that...but after you gain the trust back...you can tell them that you like dressing up like a gangster...

People are going to see you before they get to know you, if you are that worried about it, maybe you should stop dressing that way.
Dressing a certain way will get you labeled as such! Period.

Best way to change their perceptions of you, is for you to put on ballet shoes and a pink tutu, twinkle toe your way around them. Of course they may beat the dung outta you, but they won't think you're a gangsta anymore. For real.
