I was in a place called West End just outside of Atlanta. Was 10 years old. The school sent all the children home that had parents there (which was most of us) I walked home. My mama met me at the door and I could see she had been crying. She pulled me in her arms and I broke down sobbing. I knew something awful had taken place. We watched tv together the rest of the day and evening. When our 9-11 happened that too was a tragic and traumatic event. I wondered why they didnt send the kids home to be with their parents during that awful day. Families should have come together to mourn the lost as we did JFK and to support each other. Yes, we did do those things but it was after we got off work and after school was out. m

I was 20 years old at the time, living at home with my family in Boston,. Massachusetts, going to Boston College.
I can still easily recall the scene on the MTA (the streetcar) on my way home that day - everyone was crying, some loudly, while others just sat there silently with tears streaming down their faces
Four days later, I dropped out of college and enlisted in the Marines.

I was living in Dallas when Kennedy was shot. I was in Kindergarten. My father was a Secret Service Agent and was part of the Warren Report investigation. I remember seeing the whole thing on TV sitting in my mother's lap.

I was about 3 1/2 years and laying on my tummy on the living room floor watching it on TV and wondering what everyone was so interested in and upset about. When I got older I wondered why I wasn't sent home from school and then I realized "I wasn't old enough!"

I was in my fifth grade class with Mr Robbins talking when it came over the P.A. system saying the President Kenney had been shot in Dallas. Then when we were just getting settled down it came over that he had died in the hospital.

My mother was in school when the principal came on the overhead and told them that the President had been shot.
My father was also in class, but someone ran in and told them.
