My doctor gave me yeast medications but they are not working for me. The odor has a smell almost like blood, I no longer have my period because of early womanhood problems so It's not my menastration.

Read up on Kefir and go buy some. Anytime you take antibiotics, it can knock your body out of balance with levels of good/bad bacteria...and Kefir helps restore it.

I try NEVER to take antibiotics...but, when i do, as soon as i finish with the cycle, I grab Kefir and have that once or twice a day.

My worry is that your doctor is going to prescribe yet ANOTHER round of some type of antibiotic and that your body will again not be able to get back to normal.

Give it a shot. Its a bit like yogurt and is as harmless as yogurt too.

I also get yeast infections a lot. Especially from anti biotics but if your doc is giving you yeast infection medicine and it won't go away maybe that's not what it is. And you say there is an odor. Yeast infections don't normally cause odors. Bacterial Vaginosis does however and has similar symptoms to a yeast infection. I have plenty of these also, the bad part is that they are treated with antibiotics! It's a never ending cycle

Contact your doctor again, but it sounds like a yeast infection that's just not responding to what your doctor tried first. Antibiotics kill bacteria, including the "good" bacteria that keeps yeast in balance, in your body.

Some people are more likely to have that problem than others. Now that you know you have this side-effect, eat yogurt and/or take acidophilus every day when you take antibiotics from now on, and ask your doctor about how else to prevent a yeast infection, next time you have to take an antibiotic. The infection isn't particularly harmful, but it's sure not fun.

You may have a bacterial infection. Sometimes there is a bacteria that is resistant to the antibiotic that you are taking. Because you killed all the good bacteria during your course of antibiotics, the bad bacteria that wasn't killed took over. Yeast generally doesn't have a bad odor, it just itches. Go back to your doctor, have them do a genital culture. They can give you a cream that will take care of this problem.

An antibiotic is a drug that kills or slows the growth of bacteria. So it realy is hard to say. Keep consulting your doctor about that problem. Make sure you wash everyday and dry! Very important to dry. becuase yeast is attracted to dark moist areas. I advise that you wash in the morning, then put a none sented baby powder over the infected area, and then before you sleep use your yeast medication. It take a long time to heal sometimes. and i wish you good luck! and dont scratch it!

What you need to do is start eating yogurt. It contains Lactobacillius and it is extremely good for the natural balance of your body. You will also need to stay away from douches, since they can make the infection worse.

If you are unable to eat yogurt for whatever reason buy some acidopholus and take it. Be sure to keep it in the refrigerator. If you have any other questions you can contact me on yahoo messenger BelovedEnigma

Antibiotics kill off all kinds of bacteria. In your case they
not only killed off the bad bacteria you were trying to get
rid of, but also probably some of the good bacteria you
need in your system to fight infections.

Whenever you get antibiotics, another sickness is always a
possibility (this is the most common occurance of outbreaks
of clostridium difficile coilitis). Always consult your doctor
when that happens and ask that they are not just covering
up your new symptoms, but also treating the root cause
(for example, some doctors mistakenly treat c. dif. sufferers
with anti-diarrhea meds when they get diarrhea after taking
large amount of antibiotics... which is not good!).

Antibiotics cause yeast infections...stop taking them.

When Juanita was diagnosed with strep throat, her doctor prescribed an antibiotic to treat the infection. Juanita started to feel better soon after she took the medication — the pain in her throat subsided and her temperature returned to normal. But just as she was about to go back to her busy routine, Juanita noticed an unusual discharge in her underwear. To make things worse, her vaginal area felt very itchy.

It turns out that Juanita had a yeast infection. She told her mom about her symptoms, and her mom knew that Juanita should go back to her doctor's office. There, she was relieved to find out that diagnosing and treating a yeast infection is simple and painless.

What Is a Yeast Infection?
A yeast infection, also known as candidiasis (pronounced: can-dih-dy-uh-sis), is the name for a common infection caused by a type of yeast-like fungus called Candida. Small numbers of Candida are always present in our bodies, but normally we have the right balance of bacteria and other factors to keep them from growing too much. Sometimes, though, these yeast-like fungi do grow too much, and this can cause an infection. These infections usually occur in warm, moist parts of the body, such as the mouth and moist areas of skin. When they cause an infection in the vagina, it is known as vulvovaginal candidiasis.

Candida can overgrow for many reasons. Stress, pregnancy, and illnesses that affect your immune system may allow yeast to multiply, as can certain medicines. These include some birth control pills and steroids. Or if you're taking antibiotics, such as for strep throat, the antibiotics can kill "good" bacteria that also live in the body and normally keep the growth of Candida in the vagina in check. Yeast also flourish if a girl's blood sugar is high. Girls who have diabetes that isn't controlled are at a higher risk for yeast infections.

Many girls find that yeast infections tend to show up right before they get their periods because of the hormonal changes that come with the menstrual cycle. Clothes (especially underwear) that are too tight or are made of materials like nylon that trap heat and moisture might lead to yeast infections because yeast can thrive in this type of environment. And douching and using scented sanitary products can upset the balance in the vagina and make yeast infections more likely.

It's common for girls who are not sexually active to get yeast infections. Although yeast infections are not considered sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), they can occasionally be spread from one sexual partner to the other. This is quite rare, however, and the partner of someone who has a yeast infection does not automatically have to be treated.

What Are the Symptoms of a Yeast Infection?
Common signs and symptoms of yeast infections include:

itching and irritation in the vagina
redness, swelling, or itching of the vulva (the folds of skin outside the vagina)
a thick, white discharge that can look like cottage cheese and is usually odorless, although it might smell like bread or yeast
pain or burning when urinating or during sex
If you have any of these symptoms, it's important to see your doctor or gynecologist. It's easy to confuse the symptoms of a yeast infection with those of some sexually transmitted diseases and other vaginal infections. Your doctor can give you the right diagnosis.
