If Ethonol becomes widely available, can a Honda Civic be tweeked to run on it? Will it require major modifications?

It can already run on 15% with no mod

I think it just needs tweaking. This would only be true for gasoline cars, not diesel cars. Some cars are already set up to receive ethanol as a fuel as well as gas - "Flexible fuel" vehicles.

not as of yet. but they are developing conversion kits for most car they will cost 1000- 1500 for the kit. application of these kits isnt considered a major mod.

Any car can burn 10% ethanol. More that this and there would have to be a conversion.
