Listen, sunshine, Scotland has had to put up for 300 years with whatever the English-based MPs voted for, because they outnumber ours about 6 to 1, so get over this temporary period where the the bampot English tabloids are stirring it up.
OK?

First of all, what has the football got to do with any of this? Being Scottish I wouldn't support England in the world cup for a simple reason - I'm not English. It has been that way for years and no one bothered until the media jumped on it this year.
And now its churned up a lot of other isses.
Secondly your question should read why is the UK being run by the Scottish beacuase it is the UK Goverment.
Gordon Brown and other Scottish MP's are Members Of Parliment, the Parliment of the UK which, in case you've forgotton, includes England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland. Just cos Gordon Brown has a chance of being PM doesn't mean Scotland will be running England, it means a PM from Scotland, on of the countries in the UK will be running the whole of the UK.
Get real mate, and get your facts right.
I am really sick fed up of the English inability to realise England isn't the whole of the UK.
Scotland got a grip and got its own Parliment, all be it a mickey mouse one, but isn't it time England done the same if it bothers you all so much and leave Westminster to run the whole of the UK.
And didn't you realise Tony Blair was born in Edinburgh, about 30 miles away from where Gordon Brown is from?

The others are spot on! Maybe the question you should be asking yourself is why oh why oh why are the english becoming more racist towards us scots.
As for scots smashing a window -- thats just pathetic! there are incidents like this on both sides of the border. i heard of scots getting beat up down south because of this english media fuelled scottish backlash over the world cup. the difference being you dont hear about it, because the so called 'national' news is basically only covering english issues now.
this is apparently the united kingdom where all countries should be regarded as equal. for too long england is being viewed as utterly superior to the others in the union. if people like you continue with such comments - the union will break up. then you will be sorry - england needs the union.

Because the English haven't woken up to the fact. We wouldn't have a labour government now, if it wasn't for the Scottish vote.
There were more Tory votes in England than Labour ones. To add insult to injury, Scottish MP's in the UK government, can vote on issues which have effect in England, but do not apply in their Scottish constituencies. I'm not surprised that they can't wait to hand the country over to the EU, and don't give a damn about the borders.

Im sure you'll get many similar answers, but really it comes down to the fact that, if we didnt rule you, you'd be just another state in the USA, our natural superiority has saved you. Plus over 50% of the british army is scottish, so you'd be well screwed by now if it wasnt for us.
Dont forget the 1st King of what was the united kingdom of great britain was a scot. James the 6th of scotland, james 1st of england
So its only fair tradition continues, and we continue to look after you poor Ruperts and Cecils... dont you think?
10 points please for the best answer :D

Because people voted for Blair. He then smuggled his little Mafia in and BINGO its like the bloody highland games in Westminster. Don't worry he will squeeze a few more in for the next election. Yet an English person try getting voted on the Welsh or Scottish Parliament.

Cos while u were all to busy worrying about Sven ruining your footie team we got together and decided to give up football and take up politics! After having Thatcher imposed on us by middle England and having to put up with you lot trying to turn us into a third world country by nicking our oil and killing off our staple industries, we all decided to give you a taste of your own bitter medicine.
So now we run your country!! How does it feel to be a Scottish colony!! As for a minority of Scots resorting to violence over England flags, how is this headline news!! Not headline news when Asian and Black people are being racially abused in your country!
If you don't like it, campaign for your own parliment and mibbe, just mibbe, we may allow you to decide on your own issues you whining idiot!!!!!!

I'm with that mad lass--it's not the British Parliament, it's the Parliament of the United Kingdom, of which Scotland happens to be a part. Why shouldn't they have their say the same as the Brits? Or the Irish, if they could make up their minds about anything.
The Scottish reason? Of course, because they're so good at it.

Because they were elected.
(N.B. No-one was 'smuggled in' - see below - Brown, Cook and Irvine etc. were already in the shadow cabinet. This whole argument is complete b*llocks.)
