I think other celebrities like Jennifer Aniston are more media friendly then say 50 cent. Rappers have such a bad reputation and some of it earned. Rap music is popular, but there is larger population who think rap music is crap.
If you put Jay-z on a cover of one magazine and Halle Berry on the other, which magazine do you think would sell more copies?
People who purchase magazines based their decision on the who appears on the magazine cover and magazine content. Most people do not want to read about a rapper who smokes weeds, has children all over town, involves himself in shoot-outs and bangs every groupie in every town he plays in.
Negativity may sell cds, but it doesn't always sell magazines....

I don't know what you're reading, but I can't get AWAY from having info about rappers shoved in my face. If you want it to be overriding everyone else, well, the mainstream shows/pubs are going to always cover the biggest of the big. "Movie stars" generally take precedence over tv stars, musicians, etc. And i know for a fact that if you want to find the information, and you clearly have an internet connection -- you can find it without a whole lot of effort.
If you're tired of reading about these people -- just stop. Nobody is making you do that.

Try King or Vibe, or anything else featuring rap artists. They may have some interesting columns. Go to a book store, because they generally have more magazines, and you will find some good rap ones. Also, Rolling Stone might have something.
PS- Why is everyone who is answering this question asking her why she likes to read about celebrities??? The question is not, "do you like to read about celebrities?"!!! It is not helping her find her information when you instead decide to vent your anger about people who read celebrity magazines.

There are far more important things to talk about than the private lives of celebrities.. What the reporters need to focus on is what is going on around the world and all of the ugliness that exists.

I guess people just dont care to know how many baby's momma's that he has...
If you dont like reading about the "Jennifer Aniston" types i suggest picking up sort of rap inspired magazines. Or search online. Theres gotta be sites specifically geared in that direction.

Why does anyone care about the personal life of a total stranger?? I hardly care about people I know! That's why I love my pets more than people, no gossip & they don't hog the remote.

I have enough trouble keeping up with my own life. I do not care to follow celebrities(especially Paris Hilton). If you want to know what God thinks of money, just look at who He gives it to!

I could careless about celebrities in general. I got my own issues to worry about, than to wonder who is with who. I don't care. It sounds so high school with who is dating who, who is pregnant, and the "OMG DID YOU HEAR SO AND SO?" No I didnt hear about so and so, and I honestly don't care. They get paid millions of dollars, and no privacy, oh well, they chose that life style.
Its like a police officer complaining he's been shot at or attacked.
DUH, thats job description of your work.
