I actually did this to a person I knew. I thought long and hard about how to tell this gal that she had a very rank odor. Finally, being an Avon Rep, I came up with this idea. I told her that I wanted her to try a sample of a new deodorant, and tell me what she thought about it. When I did this, I found out something startling. She said that everything that she tried using made her break out in hives really bad, even baby powder. I don't know if this was the truth or a brush-off, but I had to accept the fact that she stunk. The only thing left would be me telling her she stunk and to keep her distance, which would be very rude on my part. She also told me that she was aware of her odor, but didn't know what she could do about it, with all her allergies. It's a very hard thing, telling someone they stink, but even worse when you find out they've tried everything they can and this is life for them. My daughter has the same problem with her feet. I've bought every deodorant known to man and her feet still stink...right out of the shower too! I also know two gals who's breath smells like mothballs and they can't do anything about it because it's due to their medication. My husband smokes a pipe and, even though he does it outside, his clothes and hands still stink, making me turn away (until he washes his hands & sprays his clothes). I have allergies and have a hard time breathing around smokers. So, I guess what I'm saying is, if you can't find a delicate way to deal with the stink of others, you just might have to find your own way to live with their stink, depending on who's offending your nostrils. I love my husband, and we've both learned how to deal with his stink in a way that makes us both happy. Consider some of these possibilities before confronting your odiferous pal. And please do so very gently, considering how you would want someone to approach you regarding your smell. Everyone smells, to a certain degree. I think it's just as offending to smell some of these guys who bathe in Axe (whoever thought that skunk pee smells great needs a nose transplant!), which follows them down the street and chokes everyone in its path. Of course, that's just my opinion. Some gals have a problem with perfume control too, so I guess it's even. <*)))><

You gently explain that you do not mean to offend them but they have a high body odor. some ppl naturally have a high odor so you can probably recommend something stronger than their usual soap and deodarant.
I have heard that if u cut a lime and rub it under your arm pits it can stop the odor. suggest that but not in a nasty way.

If it's a guy, you should recommend a body wash. Like this: "Have you tried the new Old Spice shampoo and body wash? It smells REALLY good, you can get matching scented deodorant, and a lot of gals love the scent of Old Spice. You should try it some time!"

Maybe tell them about a great new deodorant you've recently discovered, tell them in a way that makes them think your suggesting it because you need it, that will get your point across without hurting their feelings, if this doesn't work you should just tell them, friends should always look out for each other. Good Luck!

For starters a woman should inform a woman and vice versa. Now you just ask the person which soap or other body products he/she is using and if he/she might want to change to something else (you might be using), good luck!

buy them a bottle of body wash, a washcloth/loofa, and some deodorant for their birthday. They'll get the picture. This may not be the right way... but it's really funny.

God Bless You because I have been in that predicament before and it's like you can't muster up the right words to tell them without hurting their feelings. Good Luck to ya!
