My friends who once claimed, marriage equality for all...are
now caught up in the whole marriage thing and putting up
blog pages and being all hetero. I guess legislation made
them appreciate their rights. But it's really annoying.

I give them good wishes.

Then my next sentence is, "No, really, all the best. But I'll only say this once - at least you CAN get married!"

This also went over big at my niece's wedding reception. Thus you are making your point without being mean-spirited, and you are being upbeat.

Don't be mad at them for being happy about their up coming weddings, be mad at the people in the government/ignorant people who don't think you should have the same rights as them. And then act on the mad feelings by talking to your friends and so on about equal marriage rights and trying to educate others. A wedding should be a happy event filled with joy, an event that everybody in love would like the right under law to have. That "law" will change someday.

I suggest you give them a gift. A petition to sign and have everyone at their weddings sign. A petition to send to your congressmen and senators that states they all support equality and would like to give you the gift of getting married to the one you love someday.

Did you expect them to not get married until ALL people can get married? That's selfish.

Be happy for them. I'm sure they will attend your gay wedding when the law changes.

Don't make your wedding desires a damper on their wedding plans. Attend and enjoy. Hopefully one day you'll have one to celebrate too.

If it were legal for you to get married right now...would you be able to? Are you in a relationship now and want to get married? If these people truly are your friends, you should be happy for them.

I am sorry but it is not something that is going to change.
