My opinion is that if they are dumb enough to go to a freakin' war zone, they get what is coming.

I feel adults should be treated like adults. Did the americans living in lebanon have no clue about the tensions in the region? Did they have no plan on what to do if things flared up? Why is it that people expect the Governements to save them from their own stupid mistakes?
I firmly believe people should look out for themselves as much as possible. In this situation, Americans knew what they were getting themselves into, yet chose to do it anyways. Its all about personal choices, and dont blame the government for those who fail to look out for their own lives and safety.

what do you think are the ''AMERICANS'' living in Lebanon?
most of them must be Muslims and some who wants to get rich in a hell country
why should be America responsible for the private life and decisions of every single person just because he have a green card??
America did not send them by force to Lebanon??

This administration is late to everything. Oh, and they're charging people for it.
Oh, and Stiff Grey Goose...you're an idiot. Beirut was becoming a vibrant international city (as it once was) and the Lebanese are one of the largest Arab minorities in the US. Most of them were on official duty, on international study, or were visiting family when war broke out. It's not their fault.

Is that really true. Americans have always been quite generous in helping foreign nationals who are in a spot. I am from Canada and would find this most difficult to believe.

Hate to say it but this country seems to have a real problem when it comes to rescuing people. Has anyone checked to see where ex-FEMA director Michael "Way To Go, Brownie" Brown is?

certain. This American's opinion is that if "Palestine" and Hezbollah would quit murdering and kidnapping human beings for sport, we would not prefer to help Israel's protecting itself. it is sorta like asking "why do I help the guy who beat up a guy who became raping his spouse?" it is a no brainer.

the State Dept have been issuing warnings to the travelers for years... They should know the trip is not safe.
Having said that, as a conservative republican, I think the US gov is not helping its citizens faster enough.
The US gov needs to be criticized...
