Yep, it's Sotomayor from Cuba for men - 8' 0-1/2" Can you believe the record will be 16 years old in just 7 days?

The closest anyone has come since was 7'10 -1/2" by Vyacheslav Voronin of Russia in 2000.

For women, it's Stefka Kostadinova of Bulgaria, with a jump of 6'10-1/4" (2.09m) and THIS record is now almost 19 years old....

3 women have the next best mark, Kajsa Bergqvist of Sweden, Hestrie Cloete of South Africa and Yelena Slesarenko of Russia have all jumped 6'9" (2.06m )


It's about time they were both broken...
