How do you successfully melt the glycerin base to make soap?

A double boiler I thought. We don't use glycerin soap though cause its yucky, we prefer the hemp oil soap base much more.

I use either the microwave like TexLady or I have an electric skillet dedicated to crafts, but it takes longer.

I use the microwave. Try it in 30 second increments, stir, then heat again.
