i have been finding out that the school systems today don't talk what these channels do.

I used to watch shark week on disc. channel
on the history channel I love when they do pieces on mysterious happenings such as ufos, mysterious people and other strange occurences.
I like the "real stories of the E.R"

I watch them and I love learning new things. School systems only have so much time day to teach so many differant subjects.

History, Discovery and PBS they have great shows and there is also an online interactive learning service ,'Cosmeo', on the discovery.com website.
