I am a cheerleader. During our cheer season we ran a mile every day, did 4 sets of 4 on all jumps, did all the arm and leg work outs, and we practiced our cheer/dance, threw girls in the air, and took first in state in our division. We did the whole nine yards. Yet, for some reason people don't find it a real sport. Why?

I think cheerleading is more of a sport than golf, plus you need to be in shape to be a cheerleader so you workout more than a lot of other sports, so I agree it is a sport♥

Probably because they wear skirts and seem as though they are into social life more than anything else...I'm not trying to be mean, but that is how it is looked at. They definitely work hard, but the line needs to be drawn somewhere. It is like calling band a sport.
