I am 14, and I think that we should go as natural as we can for as long as we can. I don't wear foundation because I don't want to cover up the great skin that we only have for a short period of time. Once I hit 30, ill probably start wearing more makeup! =) . Right now, I wear.....
a very thin line of eyeliner on top
one coat of mascara
natural color eyeshadow.. a little darker than my skin tone
lip gloss.
Sometimes I like to play with color so i use a pine green liner.. and it looks great with my big brown eyes! =)
Keep it simple.... the key to makeup is to enhance your best features... not cover them up with too much makeup!

14 is such a fun age! I remember getting toghether with my girlfriends and practicing on each other makeups we saw on magazines- great way to learn ! Take pictures too! It is good age to start learning different techniques and knowing what looks good on oneself and what doesn´t. When practicing, you can be as natural or as outrageous as you want to. You can get advice from your mom. Now for going out your home, things are different: At 14 you´re better off with the "less is more" advice. For every day you may want to wear only sun protection ( a good habit to follow) and lipgloss. For a special occasion you may add mascara. that is all a young lady really needs!

If her parents permit it.
I think its a good idea for a mom and daughter to go to get a facial together, and have the daughter be taught how to properly put make-up on. A lot of parents do not like their daughters to wear make-up because most teens do not know how to put makeup on properly, so it can come off being trashy instead of the look you were intending. If you suggest to you mom that she and you go together to look for make-up and for a facial, your mom won't be so scared that you are "growing up too quick" and may take it as an opportunity for the two of you to spend quality time together, alone.
You know our mom the best though, so if you really want to wear make-up, you have to figure out how to convince her you are mature enough to do so -- for example: is your room kept clean, do you do your chores without complaint (help around the house), do you take responsibility for your school-work, do you come in at or before your curfew, do you introduce your parents to your friends -- all of these will help your mom see that you are growing up responsibly and will help her be more lenient with you!

I'm 14 now, i usually just wear mascare, eyeliner, and if it matches my outfit some eyeshadow, but always very light
and if u have an acne condidtion maybe something to hide some of them, so a little cover-up or foundation to even out the skin tone

Yes...but try to keep it light. A little lipgloss and maybe a bit of very subdued eyeshadow. Remember that you are 14 and not 40, and enjoy being young.

I say lip gloss and maybe a little light eyeshadow is good. But no dark red lip stick or mascara or eye liner. At 14 kids should just learn to love their natural beauty.

Some lipgloss and maybe a little cheek color. Take it easy with the makeup - you don't want to look like a harlot.

yes, as long as your subtle and not trashy about it. get your essential items from a nice brand; drug store makeup is cheap and bad for your skin. bobbi brown does cute makeup for younger girls. she also has a book for teens, i think its called teenage beauty. get some conclealer for blemishes and undereye circles, some blush and bronzer, some mascara, and a nice lipgloss. also, invest in some nice makeup brushes, and take good care of them. i bought mine from bobbi brown 9 years ago and they are still in excellent condition.
