I get swimmers ear all the time. Also known as outer ear infection. It is causes by bacteria and/or fungus growing in the outer ear canal. the vinegar and alcohol works great. Part of the cause of the infection is a lack of the natural ear wax in the ear protecting the ear. Using a Q-tip removes the ear wax, they say not to use a q-tip for this reason...I know its hard not to..especially when your ears itch as badly as they do with the infection. For the itchy ears put a drop of Olivil Oil into the ear let it sit in there and then tilt head other direction to flow out. Olivil oil has an anti-bacterial properties and helps with the protecting that the ear wax normally does. I use the vinegar and alcohol (sometimes I use peroxide) then after the ear dries out (can use a hairdry for that too...held about 18inches from head) then I put the oil in my ears...and if they itch alot I put the oil in.
Hope this helps...If it gets worse, with lots of pain or itching then get a antibacterial drop from the Doc.
BUT THIS IS IN NO WAY VOODOO MEDICINE! LOL

Hey when you find out the answer, let me know! I got an ear infection from having phone sex, so I wasn't sure if I should use that or get a shot of penicillin!!!

Just use equal amounts of white vinegar and alcohol. I am assuming you are talking about swimmers ear?

One half apple cider vinegar, one half alcohol. You can buy a dropper bottle from the pharmacist.
