I have a 2.0 RedOctane Ignition Universal (works with Xbox and PS2) Foam Dance Pad from 2 years ago and lately the down arrow won't work. Does anyone else have this problem? Should I buy a new one?

You should buy a new one, and 2 years is pretty good for a soft pad, I blasted thru 5 or 6 soft pads in about a year before I bought my metal Cobalt Flux pad, and it works as well as the day I bought it, 2 years this Christmas (and this is me playing almost daily with shoes on the pad). If you are into the game, plan on going to the arcade, and have the cash, I recommend getting the CF, it will last a long time and it can withstand wearing shoes, which was the major selling point for me.

more than likely the stomp sensor in the arrow has moved. u have to find it. it will either be a lump or a cottony pad. if thats not it then u need a new one. buy the one that comes with the newer ddr games.it makes it harder to move for intense ddr players.

DDR pads break pretty easy, but electrical tape seems to make a quick fix (although a new pad would be easier).

Buy a new one, problem with the ones that arent the metal arcade ones is you are stomping right on the electronics and it kills the pad.

Yeah, they wear out pretty quickly. You'll have to buy a replacement or go the metal route
