On Monday i go to court to be sentenced. And the minimal sentence is 1 year in state prison and the max is 15 years. My lawyer says i will probley not get more then 5. Other then this time I have never been arested or been to jail. I have been on house arested since i plead guilty so i do not know what to expect. What will prison be like. Please give me any tips or a idea of what it will be like. I really want to go into this kind of knowing what to expect. I am told in the state jail you spend about 15-20 hours in your cell and the cells are 8x10. What will this be like?

A lot of it depends on which state you are in and which prison. Most prisons have levels. The high levels are for those with serious violent offenses, or "points" on their record that make them a higher level... the different levels can determine what your average prison day is like. Obviously if you are housed with minimum offensed inmates, you will have a bit more freedom.. if you can call it freedom.
On an average, you will be woken up at 6am to eat a pathetic breakfast. You will either be housed in a small cell either solo or with a bunkie. You could also be housed in a dorm setting with a bunk of "racks" beds in a row. You then might have the opportunity to shower... or possibly program. You are only required to be out of your room for an hour a day. You could possibly get more program time than that. The average type of program is either in the "dayroom" playing cards or watching television... Which usually is controlled by certain races. Race is everything in there.... You also may be able to have outside rec on the yard. Hand ball, basketball and depending on the facility weights will be accessable. There are institutional counts, where the staff count each body, and that happens at least three times a day. You will be served a horrible sack lunch and then later be served a dinner. It is not a fun place to be. Please learn a valuable lesson in this and try and stay out. Hopefully you will learn from this mistake... You will have plenty of time to think about it and make the necessary changes in your life. Good luck.. Ignore all the "rape" and "soap" comments that are being made. Yes that can happen, i would just try and stay to yourself. Learn the rules fast from a peer (of the same race as you) and then you won't make common mistakes while incarcereated.

Well depending on what state you live in is the difference.Now hardened criminals are in what is called maximum security wich is a 23 hr lock down and 1 hr free.Some prisons you shower 1 a day some 1 a week.There are aprox 45 to 60 men in a line at shower time.Don't be the 1st to go in but don't be the last to go either.All this info is from the state where i had an unfortunite mishap,this will vary from state to state.Meals are generaly served at 6:30am 12:00pm and 6:00 pm.Don't go in there like you own the place don't stare at people don't tell anyone your buisness,nevr tell on anyone and don't join a gang.If you get 1 yr there will be no work realeas avalible if you get 5 you will be eligable after 1 yr to work in prison and after 3 you will be elegeble to go out and work.Cells hold 2 men,if the place is over populated wich it probably is it may hold 3.You will get the floor if the beds are taken.Don't get to close to your celly's but don't become enimies by anymeans,cause guys are killed in there cells when it's lok down time.You probably wont be held in maximum security.You may get a yr and spend 364 1/2 days in coutny.Be careful and don't show fear,don't backdown if someone starts or you will be known as the chump.Don't back down if someone trys to punck (f__k) in the shower or you will be known as a bi_ch.Of course sleep with one eye open,keep to your self and good luck i hope it goes well in court.

The first 2 guys are right it is hell. You have to assiocate with a group once your in or your lunch. Don't make it too obvious you want in or you will look cheesy (not exactly what the guys will think). I'm a girl and never been to prison but half my friends are there some forever. It is the worst place your ever going to go. You will not get a good nite's sleep maybe ever again. I know a few of my friends still don't sleep. You always have to be on your toes. Don't trust anyone in ythere they aren't ther to be your friend. Please be careful and learn from this. You will either never go again or you'll be bak within the year. Your choice, make the right one next time. I am not trying to scare you but this is the way it is. Find a group, mind your own business and never be a snitch no matter what happens or you are DONE. Well i know somebody who has been locked up. I'm going to tell you the good things about it he meet some good friends ( who he talks to till this day), got into shape, had cable T.V., all the little snacks ( that money can buy)and went to school. You will be pushed around but just look on the bright side and i think you will get maybe probation or a year it matters what you did. If You are going as a sex offender or something in that category i feel sorry for ya but other than that don't stress on it what was done was done

Many women are attracted to the alpha ( bad boys, players, cheat and beat) these women are called alpha chasers. beacuse most men are not alpha's( about 75% of men who were interested in them weren't alpha's so they had to chase the bad boys. ) so they have to chase after the alpha. All of the good guys who are interested in them they ignore for the alpha. The good guy who will treat them well they see as dirt. The alpha tricks them into thinking they will make the best relationship and these women think with their genitals ( he makes me wet) instead of their heads ( he will cheat on me) I help these alpha chasing women think differently and find a good guy. There are woemn who think with their heads and would never get involved with an alpha guy they know he will cheat, beat etc. But sadly most women are easily tricked. The good news if a woman admits she is an alpha chaser we can help them see the good guys who will treat them well as a better choice. A woman who chases after alpha's has a very sad life. Unfortunately many women do so and are alpha chasers.

Take it from me,I did 7 years.i don't know what state u r from but i am from n.y.Some of the worst prison r in n.y. and i've been there.As lot as u r yourself,u'll be ok.don't gramble,mess with fags,or disrespect ppl and u'll be ok.I was max prisons the most and I'm a skinny white guy,I got into fights but that's cuz i choose too.Stay to urself.Feel free to e-mail me with any questions.dan_26_2005@yahoo.com...Also,if u r going for a sex crime,ur in trouble.I mean no disrespect but it's true.

it depends on what ur convicted of. a violent crime carries more restricted movment non-violent crime drugs, fraud, forgery u will be in a less restricted faculity. this means ur amount of freedon while being locked up. at any rate it sucks. the answers that were not smart *** remarks are all true. my advice is also to keep out of the clicks keep your spirts up take advantage of the programs offered. and forget about the outside world and the internet.

You never said why you were going to jail. It depends on your crime. If you are a child molester or rapist or did anything to anyone's mom, you are not going to like jail at all. But then, they don't exactly want you to want to be there. You will not go to bed when you want to... they don't care if you can't sleep. They don't care if you freeze to death or sweat to death... You apparently didn't care about someone else when you committed your crime!
If you don't want to serve time, don't do a crime! Too late now...

it will be good for a criminal like u , i think prison is too easy , u should only get bread and water and they should make u work picking up trash from the roadside
