i just answered a question asked by funkyangle003 on reiki that you may find interesting. please check it out, as it will bear upon your reiki work after you are attuned. beyond that : there are many "masters" out there of varying degrees of expertise, charging an increasingly wider range of amounts for initiations. it is important that you search very diligently for the "right" person for you. inquire of friends, research on the web, go to psychic fairs, look in your local paper, and especially in "new age" local publications for "happenings" in the reiki community local to you. and, visit vegetarian restaurants, and other haunts of new agey type people. also, inquire of all those whose workshops you might consider what the costs are. reiki master level used to be, in my day, $10,000, from many "schools.( and the costs for all levels vary fro teacher to teacher.) such, luckily is no longer the rule. reiki is a wonderful practice and will bring you many benefits. i've been involved with reiki for twenty one years, and teaching for 13. i had to wait until i found a credible teacher who charged a much more reasonable amount before i could take master level. btw 3rd level--your doc, is usually master level? what's happening there? can't she attune you? best of luck to you--my intuition is that if you ask your "Higher Self" to help you find the right teacher, etc. you absolutely will. also, perhaps of interest to you: check out www.sahajayoga.com--a wonderful site for learning about and experiencing potent "subtle energy". finally, see: www.starchildascension.org

The Reiki master you know probably knows other Reiki masters. If not.... You can ask at a new age store, holistic health store, nautropath's office. Go to a new age or psychic fair; you'll find literature on the table from lots of teachers. There are people like me who will teach long distance as well, but in person is better because of the personal connection. Good luck.

I teach Reiki both in person and with people around the world. My suggestion is check out some directories on line and ask the master you are interested in questions about how they learned, who they learned from and what to expect. Go with the person you feel comfortable with. Don't rule out learning from someone who is far way.
You can check out my web page if you're interested. www.moonblossomstudio.com There are also links to directories there as well.
Blessings,
Wendy

find other reiki practitioners in the area and find out where they learned it from...i had reiki level 1 when i was in massage therapy school...that may be another place you can check...even if the school doesn't offer that one course they usually have lists of continuing ed. for mt's or other courses that are open to the public...also check health food stores. they usually have newsletters, fliers, or magazines that have listings and course offerings

Masters are registered. Only go to a registered Master.
You will be shown= whenyoure ready/ Dont rush- it is very hard work and you will need great stamina/
If you 'null each other out' my guess is you arent ready yet- no teacher could help you
