There are large pockets of Irish throughout Canada, B.C. is no exception. What kind of work do you do? Skilled tradesmen are desperately needed in all area of neighbouring Alberta. The cost of living is very high in the Greater Vancouver area, as well as in the Okanagan Valley. Look for smaller cities and towns for a slower pace of life, less crime, etc. Good luck with your move.

What sort of work are you thinking of doing? There are pubs in BC -- any number of them -- but no specific Irish community. There are a lot of people here of Irish descent, and they simply mix with the rest of the population. If you want to work, at present they are screaming for tradesmen -- carpenters, and that sort of thing are worth their weight in gold and will be for the next few years. There is a building boom going on at the moment, and there will be more building going on as we approach closer to the 2010 Olympics.
Slanthe!
