I'm taking my road test soon and I have 2 questions about it.

1) What do they inspect on your vehicle for safety before you take the test?

2) Can you use a van to take a road test in, or only cars?

Thanks a lot!

You should use the vehicle you are most comfortable driving; car, van, pick-up, whatever. They inspect to make sure all your lights, including turn signals and breaks, are working, as well as wipers and the horn.

Well it is state specific I'm sure, but in NJ they make sure that your car is inspected and that's it. You can use any type of vehicle as long as the emergency brake is in the middle console so that it can be reached by the tester.
