I'd probably have to say John Lennon's death. I wasn't around when it happened, but it must have been absolutely earth-shattering for such an ardent pacifist to have suffered such a violent death

I would say Kurt Cobain......blowing your brains out on the kitchen floor is awful....just think what he was feeling before he pulled the trigger. All the other people didnt know they were gonna die, but he did.

I was around when John Lennon was shot. I cried and cried. I loved his music and I could not get over how such a talented man who contributed so much to society with his music could be gunned down for nothing.

It's hard to say, who's is the most tragic. Kurt Cobain's was pretty tragic, since it was so unexpected. Brad Nowell's was tragic because it was a week after he got married, and Sublime was on the verge of becoming huge. Jason Thirske's death was tragic because it was so inexplicable. He wrote so many life affirming songs when he was in Pennywise, that suicide didn't make sense. However, I think that the most tragic death is Layne Staley's (from Alice In Chains), mainly because of the way he lived the last few years of his life. He was never able to get over his girlfriend's death and became a recluse, and was very lonely. His body wasn't discovered until 2 weeks after he had died. I think that is very tragic.

I remember the day John died. My kindergarten teacher had a hard time getting through the day and when I got home, the babysitter was there because my Mom was so shook up.

He was an amazing man and I shudder to think what he might think of the owrld today. And I thank him and Yoko for creating the legacy they did nad I hope for more amazing music from Sean!

ALthough they were great for the time, Elvis nad Kurt weren't anything great beyond music. They his out in drugs and alcohol and what did they do for their communities or do to try and make the world a better place? Nothing...you couldn't have found 2 more gluttenous selfish artists. Great music...but hollow.

Richie Vallens, Buddy Holly & The Big Bopper.

Very tragic to lose 3 great musicians all @ once.

My second choice would be Kurt Cobain...

I think Lennon's death was the most tragic, because for one it was not self-induced like so many other famous musicians, and because he was at a very influential and peaceful time of his life.
