Yes it does seem like the people who are scared of being ripped off are indeed crooks themselves.

My Grandmother is not a crook per-say but she is always on the attack... she thinks everyone is ripping her off. She can't make it through the grocery store without the clerk getting offended because she accused them of stealing her money.
