I'm not sure what event you are calling its "Downfall".
Perhaps Gates leaving? Perhaps many of the lawsuits
overseas?
In any case, as long as their APIs are protected, they'll
have a source of revenue for the next decade. It may
not be profitable any more, but those APIs are established
EVERYWHERE.
The only way I can see any sort of death blow to them
is if we find that they have violated a number of laws
that they can't buy their way out of.
One can imagine someone suing them into oblivion, but
otherwise, nope... Not gonna happen.

What downfall? Are you referring to the European fine? First off Microsoft will appeal. Second, even if they have to pay the whole 613 million that is pretty much pocket change to them. Microsoft is here to stay like it or not.

Hopefully , if im being honest ..lol.
The pain and misery it (windows xp ..etc) has caused to millions of people, every day and night, with - bugs and crashes - security
issues...etc.
Can they not improve the software reliability ..already.
They owe me money , the hassle i have to deal with, trying to repair constantly.
Am i being reasonable ..?
