Dogs have 8 different blood groups (reference 1).

The circulatory system of insects is different; the blood does not carry oxygen. Perhaps there are similar antigens present in insect blood as that of mammals, but until such time someone sees fit to determine if blood transfusions are possible in bugs, we're just going to have to wait to find out.

yes, in fact, the Rh factor in human hematology comes from simian origin. it is named after the Rhesus monkey, which also exhibits these + or - factors in its blood! interesting huh?!

Horseshoe crabs have blue blood and are "milked" for it on the east coast of the US. I think they use it for medications and stuff. Gross if you ask me!
