That if people who are so against it would be singing a different tune if they themselves were in a condition in which stem cell research could have benefited them?

I don't understand why people are against using stem cells that would be discarded anyway. If you were one of these stem cell's "mother" (the donor), would you rather have it thrown in the trash or used to help other people. I just don't know why, in the case where it would be discarded, people are so against this. People would rather destroy something than use it to help people.

I'm against it. I'm not against science, or all stem cell research. I love what scientists are doing with hair, baby teeth, and umbilical cords. I do understand the desperation some people have. My brother has diabetes. If ESCR found a cure for him, I wouldn't judge him for taking it. However, I am against the idea of bigger, more powerful humans using smaller, weaker humans (or even the *makings* for humans) to prolong their own lives. It's a philosophical leap I just can't take, and don't want my society to take, either.

Embryonic stem cellular analyze isn't almost as promising from what they have executed so a techniques - it has produced 0 remedies. Why not positioned money into the approach it somewhat is generating outcomes (grownup stem cells) rather of putting money right into a pipe dream that one million.) kills embryos and a couple of.) would not look the miracle treatment that individuals replaced into hoping?

I am both for and against. I have a type 1 diabetic daughter whom I really wish I could take this away from her. I know this would be a cure for what is it some 200,000 million people who are diabetic. Then being I am christian and against abortion... I just am so torn on this subject. Then I also have ask myself if this was not meant to be used for humanity why would God have let the scientist discover how to do this? I am praying very much on how I should feel towards this debate.

I'm all for it. There are so many benefits that we could reap if only the people who are against it would get their heads out of their butts and encourage the research.

Oh, yes, definitely. It is terrible for anyone who would be helped by it. They are so close to a possible cure for what ails them and one guy stands in their way. I can't imagine their frustration... being so close to the finish line and having some guy in a suit blocking the way.

May their children never need it.

Not all of them but I do believe a large portion would be. Especially if they were faced with a situation where it would save their life immediately rather than possibly down the road.
