God said,'Love your neigbour as you love yourself'. Democracy also means freedom to do whatever you want to do,as long as it does not infringe on the rights and freedom of others. Whose rights and freedoms do the gay and lesbians trode over when they mary their kind?

It, of course, depends on who you ask. While gays and lesbians do not harm me, and in fact enhance my life because I have gay and lesbian friends, they do inflict harm on social conservatives. At least, the idea of homosexuality is offensive to those that don't agree with the lifestyle due to personal and religious reasons. While we could argue the reasons why homosexuality is offensive to conservatives, it quickly becomes a heated debate and the discussion leads no where. Simply put, there's no way that you're going to convince conservatives that gays and lesbians are not offensive.

However, it is important to look at the idea our founding fathers had of liberty and strictly apply its concepts to modern day society. The idea of liberty takes into account allowing the maximum amount of freedom to every individual while not steping on the freedoms of others. There are several liberty quotes you can look up if you would like to understand the basis of liberty and what role it played when the Constitution was written.

Yet many conservatives do not believe in this concept of liberty. They belive in a strictly defined religious dogma that is rife with good/evil constructs where they view themselves as the sole protectriate of American culture and society. In their opinion, they need to "defend" culture and make society good again by passing laws based upon their religious faith. Those ideas are very consistent with authoritarian rule, where laws are passed to create a society that conforms to a strict code of obedience. As a result, the modern day conservative philosophy has more in common with Maoism than that of our Founding Fathers.

So, who should we be more concerned about, the conservatives with hurt feelings or the liberties of our citizens? As a nation, we have to stand up for freedom. Not repressive hate and the moralistic codes of a few hot heads. As cheesy as this sounds, if you vote conservative in today's modern society, you're casting a vote against freedom. You're voting for oppressive communist rule. You're voting for Chairman Mao. Can you live with this on your conscience?

"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." ~ Thomas Jefferson

"Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end." ~ Lord Acton

"The jaws of power are always open to devour, and her arm is always stretched out, if possible, to destroy the freedom of thinking, speaking, and writing." - John Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." ~ Samuel Adams

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." ~ Benjamin Franklin

Because Most People Are Ignorant. I Am Not Gay But I Have A Good Friend Who Is. Everyone Should Live Their Life Without Others Butting In, Most People Who Have Problems With Gays Or Lesbians Are Actually Afraid Of There Own Inner Feelings.

I say no one, and if you disagree and use your religion as a base please point to the scripture that says gay and lesbians are wrong. I am straight, God loving and fearing but yet I believe that its personal and therefore no one but the person and the persons lover should know or care and their families. Are they any less human then you or I, no I didn't think so. As for the person that said something about the wave pool would have this been any different if it had been a guy and gal doing the same thing?

well they harm themsleves because of the moral issues addressed in the bible. Some of them also harm the minds of small children whom are still being molded when two gays are in public showing affection to eachother and sometimes in a way that should only be behind closed doors. I was at a water park with my daughter a couple of weeks ago and I had to explain to her why two woman were in the wave pool tonguing eadchother down in front of all the small children around them. So all that to say is they do take the risk of harming the minds of children that are exposed to theri very different behaviors in public.

I cannot understand these people who make a fool out of them. If that is the way they want to live then waht harm is it doing.. It is just the same in many cases.
Take this as an example, if you worked as a bin man guy, instead of being maybe a supervisor of a high quality firm, is there any difference.. Its just the same with lesbians and such. It is up to them, and if they are happy, then we should be happy for them too.

God also believes that the act of homosexuality is immoral and sinful so love your neighbors, but you don't have to love, justify, or accept their actions. Marriage is between a man and a woman and anything else is considered to be against nature or unnatural. It harms moral foundation.
