How can I stop a rumor from haunting me?

Back in sixth grade, I had one rumor that was affecting my life. It was about me and my best best friend Abby. We've been friend since second grade, and now everyone thinks that we're dating. Now, the year's over and it still haunts me. How can I make it stop?

You can't make it stop because you can't control what other people say.

You can only rise above it, put it out of your mind and go about your life. You don't need to prove anything to anyone.
