I keep on resigning my good paying jobs. My last recent ones were a couple days ago . . . I worked as an officer assistant with this ugly mid-aged monster. I have to say that no all people are meant to be teachers.-Not all people can teach.

I was this lady’s assistant, during my 1st day, they brought me to my desk where I was seated right next to her in this miserable room. (Two of us only) I said to myself, “Gosh, I am someone’s else bit(h”.

Part of me, did not feel comfortable because of the following reason:
1. I have a management degree. I should have people reporting to me not the other way around.
2. She is ugly as I said before.
3. Most people I worked with, they might be having a “wiggie” in their as_S.
4. They are not funny people.
5. They do not know how to teach.

Anyway, this lady was not mean to me in anyway. I feel that she piled up my work too fast, and make it worse, she does not provide good instructions on how to do things.
It is like going to school . . . What is the point if the teacher does not teach well, how do you expect students to learn?

Most of the time, while working with her, I tried to figure out on how to do the works she assigned to me. Part of me made me angry. I managed to live two working days with her.

I do not know either the problem is me or the jobs that I held. As of right now. I am trying to get a job as a Correctional Officer or Truck driving. I guess I am not an office person.

Do you have any feedbacks on this?

When I said, she does not know how to teach... I really mean it!

She does not give good instructions. It is hard to explain but I do my best...

Ex: you have a pile of invoices, she pulled out an invoice in the pile and told me to make sure the quantity matches. But she failed to mention what invoice that I should look for to make sure they matches. Hope you get the point!

The best favor you can do for yourself is to think about the job before you take it! Believe me, MOST jobs are not glamorous by any stretch of the imagination. Bosses will not spoon-feed you instructions to make it easy for you. If you have questions, ask! While you certainly won't like every job you do, you have to realize that in a world of adults you need to act like one. You may be quite smart and capable, but you're very immature.

You only had the job for 2 days?

Most jobs these days come with little or no training. Employers want people who can step up to the plate and stand on their own 2 feet.

As far as the invoice, you should have been matching the quantity billed on the invoice to the packing/delivery slip to see if the quantity was adjusted by the person who signed for the product or material. Simple answer, if you had only asked the question.

In today's work environment you must not be afraid to ask questions. Employers would much rather see you get it right than guess and get it wrong and have to do it over.

Good luck in your search for the right job.

Sounds like you have been in a bad situation...

Given the fact that life is not easy, so be being taught. On Job learning is not a pleasurable experince for all. Most of the time, people learn on their own. Primarily because on the Job people expect you to do your Job with the least number of instructions. And that seems to be valid enough for quite a few. On the Job you are getting paid to do the Job and in school, you pay to learn. Hence it would be improper to compare both.

I believe that one has to take the initiative of striking a good relation with your peers and try and ask questions on how to do something. Gather information and valuable insight on your work from all possible resources. Read, understand and then go about doing the Job. Slowly but steadily, you will learn and someday, you will TEACH someone else.

The problem seems to lie with you my dear. You refer to her as "ugly". What does that have to do with a job? Also you said you should have people reporting to you and yet, you did not even understood the work you were getting. Some jobs, they want you to figure things out on your own. I know because I've been working at a place like that for 4 1/2 years now and they wanted someone with initiative. There is a time to be funny and a time to be serious in a job. Those people are probably funny, but you haven't given them a chance yet. You were only there for 2 days. Mellow out.

Sounds like you should go with the truck driving job. It does not seem that you are going to take instruction from anyone very well. You need a job where you are your own boss and nobody tells you what to do or when to do it. You are going to hate any job where you have to take orders from somebody else. Being a Correctional officer would not be to your liking, I think.

Just be aware that, being a truck driver, you will have alot of rules and regulations to adhere to, and the consequences for not doing something right can be extreme.

Anyway, you can't just spend the rest of your life feeling sorry for yourself and telling everyone your "sad stories". You need to take charge, and being your own boss is the best way to do that. Then, if it doesn't work out, you will have nobody to blame but yourself.

From what you have told us it seems that you are the problem. Life is what we make it. Our attitudes greatly contribute to our dissapointments in life. What does it matter she was ugly? Why do you care?? What does it have to do with work?? Usually when we put others down it is to boost ourselves up.

Your co-workers are just that, co-workers. They are not your entertainment. And as far as having a position that people report to you, it won't happen. Usually you have to work your way up the ladder. Not many company's are hiring vice presidents, they usually promote within the company. Also, your work history is probably pretty colorful. Which will tell employers that you have no commitment. The positions you desire demands commitment and communication. You lacked communication with your previous employer because you simply couldn't ask a question. You chose to blame her teaching skills. Try not to be so critical of others. Everyone has a problem with their job, but everyone also has to pay bills. Really you should consider yourself lucky to have been able to find jobs so easily. There are alot of families who have lost their homes because they couldn't find another job. Being a truck driver will be demanding but might fit you better as you don't seem to work well with others.

Well i can tell you one thing. If you have a management degree and think people should be reporting to you, i don't think you will be very good as a truck driver or as a correctional officer. It sounds to me like you need to get off your high horse and put the work in so that you can have people that report to you. If you keep quitting these jobs how can you get work experience?

The problem is you. Grow up. You quit partly because she's ugly? Who gives a damn what she looks like. You can't figure out how to do the job you were given? Open your mouth and ask for instruction. Don't stop until you are clear on what needs to be done. You can't figure out an assistant job and you think people should be answering to you? Quit whining and grow up.

Here's my feedback....

Try being unemployed for a year and it will give you a whole new appreciation of any job you take. Some work jobs are fun and the people are great; some suck. However, I "work" with the people at my job....that doesn't make them my friends or social buddies, etc. I am paid to perform a service which I do to the best of my ability.

I think the problem is yours, considering you don't speak very well and seem to be flighty. Good luck.
