Good genes and not gaining weight too fast can help too. Sometime, us women can't help it, especially if the baby is big. My baby was big compared to how I was when I was born, so while I was pregnant, my belly was huge (and I'm tiny, I'm about 5'1"), so despite the fact that I tried to monitor my weight by not gaining it too fast, I still ended up with stretch marks. I'm not sure that any topical ointment can really help stop anyone from getting stretch marks. It has more to do with the woman's body type and how she carries the baby. Taller women don't pop out so much so their skin doesn't get too stretched out. For littler ladies like me, we can only hope.
;) Your wife's lucky!

I know women that have tried everything and I found out throughout he medical field that it has more to do with genetics then anything. I have 5 kids and my last delivery was twins. I have no stretch marks I didn't use anything but regular lotion and also plenty of healthy exercise and walking makes a big difference all the way around. It also has alot to do with the elasticity of the individuals skin.

Sounds good, but there is also skin type and genetics involved. I know women who used tons and tons of lotion and got stretch marks, and women who used none--not a drop--and didn't get a single mark.

Not all women get stretch marks while pregnant. Are you sure it was the lotion that did the trick?

I used cocoa butter and no stretch marks except around my appendix scar from many years before. Isn't that weird?
