Me and my mate have been debating which fruit or veg would be the best to throw at someone, various suggestions but at the moment I'd say a coconut was winning...

try an unripe avocado...hard as hell and light enough to throw far and fast.

I'd say a pear or an apple ... mostly due to size and easy to throw with a whole lot of power, as opposed, to a coconut which is big, heavy and uncomfortable to throw .... Plus, with a pear or an apple it would be easier to hit a moving target!!! ****, I just got hit with an apple, it hurts, I have a purple spot and I'm happy I just proved myself about right!!!

First of all why would you want to throw food at someone? If you insist on throwing a fruit or vegetable I would think that a soft one that would mush upon impact would be the best. How about a ripe banana?

I don't think hardest would be the best. I would choose a tomato because it would make such a satisfying splat on the person and a terrible mess! Gee, a coconut would hurt. Not nice.

Hardest would be a coconut, but best would be a rotten potato. My friend had some in her kitchen once and when one fell, it squirted black ooze all over the place. On impact, that would leave a raunchy smelling, black, gooey mess on someone's face.

Coconut would definitely be the hardest (and would undoubtedly hurt the most) but ripe tomatoes make the most mess, very successful!

Hardest fruit would be coconut. Best would be pinapple (soft yet deadly as it is spikey) & they are both easy to throw.

yeah but coconuts are hollowish so it woulnt hurt so much so I say you could throw a melon or a turnip yeah a pineapple would be good cos the spikey bits might stick in their foreheads ha ha ha

watermelon the hardest, too awkward .
but a tomato or rotton orange from the ground
may be the best to throw if you are hoping for a dramatic reaction.
