And yes, this goes to many of the damn programs the gov't funds today that it shouldn't (like PBS, National Endowment for the Arts, millions to La Raza.
I know, you are going to ***** about the war, but as it turns out, providing for the common defense of the nation IS one of the few things that are legitimate gov't functions. Glad we got that one out of the way.

Well to put it simply the left in this country believe that the government's purpose is to make all people feel good about themselves. It is responsible for evacuating citizens that have chosen to ignore State Department warnings against traveling to Lebanon, it is responsible for feeding, educating, and keeping them warm or cool. Nothing is the responsibility of the individual.

sure, NOW it's O.K. to do that, but 10 years ago it wasn't, and many have suffered because of it. Don't forget to let people know that you are against the research itself, not just the funding. Thank god Bush has more brains than you do. What are you always so upset about, anyways? Were you a failed abortion? Geez, you'd think YOU were the one who had to deal with pregnancy and abortion. OK el stupido, the thing is it is currently illegial to do research on new stem cell treatments. Funding for medical research is defending the nation from threat, is it your assertion that disease doesn't damage the citizens of this nation?
Secondly, attacking Iraq has little to do with defending this counrty, if you think that it does you are severly retarded.
