Wow! I can't believe some of the things I read on here. If anything being a homophobe like you is a "birth defect"! Being gay is NOT!

I think some people are born not with a gene but with a predisposition to becoming gay. There is no birth defect or upbringing that could cause this. However in my experience it seems some people have been turned off from the opposite sex as a result of rape and molestation(in that case can you blame them?)

to think about homosexuality a variance or version trait depending on the present texts sited is being considered. to assert it truly is a start illness, no it truly is a variance to what's considered widespread by technique of society in most circumstances. A genetic variance may require a administration crew of androgyny and that administration may be consistent in only a million% of the international populus in accordance to the Kinsey Institute. So defining it as a "illness" may be harsh in medical terminology and/or everyday sociological terminology- accepting there are adjustments in genetical preidpsoition and organic and organic progression as a illness may only bring about some tried remedy, IMHO.

Neither, it's how we were born. God made us this way, and God doesn't make junk!

Do you ask straight people if their need to be with the opposite sex is a birth defect, or if it stems from the way they were brought up?

If you don't apply the same rules and questions to all, then you are being discriminatory and possibly bigoted and homophobic. That wasn't your intent, was it?

Think about it. If it was all environmental, then straight people wouldn't have gay kids. Gay people who adopt wouldn't have straight kids. People who say it's purely a choice are just misinformed and looking for excuses to justify their intolerance. Why would someone *choose* to be ridiculed, hated, berated, discrimminated against?

Homosexuality appears naturally in nature. EVERY kind of animal on our planet has members who are attracted to the same sex. Anyway, it is totally genetic and science has shown that the brain of a gay male is nearly identical to that of a woman. "Up bringing" and choice have nothing to do with it. Also, no one is completely straight or completely gay, we all have a certain level of attraction for our same sex (yes, this is a documented FACT!).

It is not a birth defect. However, it is genetic, and not related to "how they are broght up".
