Hi there Ron, 1st thanks for your contribution to our freedom, without the effort and brave actions of those like yourself we would be lost.
Unfortunately, I believe the Gov's across the world have forgotten such contributions, and find it easier to neglect those who deserve financial and medical care. It's cheaper for them to hope that natural attrition will assist them.
It's not just the Brits, its global to a certain extent.
Im an Aussie, and always stand in respect on Anzac day as well as 11/11.
I wish you well and suggest you take any lack of consideration to human rights if you consider yourself hard done by.
Hats off, and remember those who have fallen before us.

Because we have a culture based on greed and not enough people stop to think how lucky they are to live in a free society. I'm not old enough to remember WW2 but I'm sure if the same thing were to happen now we wouldn't stand a chance as there is absolutely no community spirit anymore. Men wouldn't enlist because they would have to have their £50 hair cuts shaved off. Everyone is out for themselves, and if you can't keep up, tough. That's what Mrs Thatcher taught us, wasn't it?

I suspect it's purely money, Sorry.
Two generations of young men gave themselves to those wars for the good of the country. Unfortunately the country was forced to bankrupt itself to fight those same wars. The casualty list was horrendous.
The money just wasn't there, then.
It is now, and long standing policy should be changed, now that through time the government has avoided their responsibilities to most them.
We should most definitely ensure that those few remainder never have a worry for the rest of their lives.
