i think the louder the laugh the more comfortable a person is with them self. the quiet ones are usually from shy people

I think they are trying to attract attention to them. It gives people the impression that they are having a good time, and are the life of the party.

In fact, they are just annoying to everyone around them.

They heard the song, "If you're happy and you know...." It can be contagious and gets rid of negative mood. It's wonderful automatic response to happiness. (insulting laughs excluded)
