I think my husband likes the formula one best? Nascar are the stock cars that go round and round, correct? I think Forumla one has more hair pin turns and curves, right? I don't know anything about the season though. We live in Tampa FL - so i was thinking Sebring, or Daytona? What's a good race to get tickets for? Am I too late to get anything good for this year? What would you reccommend?

You should go to the Daytona 500 NASCAR race next year in February.

There are no more major races in Florida this year, but you might consider driving 500 miles up to the Road Atlanta circuit in Braselton, GA (about an hour's drive north of Atlanta) for the Petit Le Mans race, September 27-30.
It's a 1000-mile race for sports cars and run on a beautiful road course. It doesn't attract a huge crowd and you can buy general admission tickets at the gate for around $60. You can bring lawn chairs and move all around the the track or if you have camper you can park it in the infield of the track - there is an extra charge for that. If you get a bit bored with a 10-hour race, you can leave and come back later, It usually finishes at around 8:00 p.m. on the Saturday evening and it's quite nice to watch the cars racing in the dark.
Finding accommodation is quite easy as there are motels and hotels within a 30-minute drive of the circuit - I stayed in Flowery Branch, GA.
You'll find a map of the circuit at this website:

I would make sure which series he likes best. As a Champ Car fan I would be offended if I got IRL or NASCAR tickets (we're talking like marriage ending). Try to ask him without being obvious which is his favorite series, then take him to that. You could also just see which series he is watching over the next few Sundays and that should also answer your question. There probably will be a IRL (they run the Indy 500 and have Danica Patrick) street race in St. Petersburg next year, so that should be fairly close to you. I don't think there is anything much in Florida for the rest of the year, so if you want to do something in 2006 you probably have a bit of a trip in front of you.

If he loves formula 1, maybe he won´t like the nascar.
Actually Formula 1 is in Europe for the rest of the year ... and the last race will be in Brazil 20 - 22 Oct .
What I recomend is:
Dress in motor-sport style, and give him a card, that says something like VALID FOR 2 TIKETS FOR THE 2007 FORMULA 1 United States Grand Prix Indianapolis. But remember one ticket could be over $100 plus hotel and travel expenses
Normally this race takes place in June-July, you could check in November next year calendar in http://www.formula1.com
There are two very different types of ticket for Indianapolis. If you want to see the cars travelling at more than 320 km/h on the oval, a grandstand ticket is a must. General admission, on the other hand, will get you even closer to the action in the track's tight and twisting infield section.
Hardcore race fans can camp in a field adjacent to the Speedway, but there are Bed & Breakfasts and good hotels available in most areas of the city.

Or you could by that special Home TV Theatre and watch the rest of 2006 Grand Prix Calendar, something very usefull for any sports watching...

Make your choice

The IRL has a race in downtown St. Petersburg (twists and turns) but not till next year. They also race on the oval in Homestead in March. That's the best type of racing to try and see.

Although if he likes NASCAR and you get Daytona 500 tickets, do it. That's their biggest race.

What the hell!!!!
It's too late to buy tickets for Hockeheim, Germany 'cause the race is July 30.
But you can plan it right for Monza, Italy, next September 10, and you get the trip to Europe, another honeymooooon, and the race. Everybody happy.
Absolutely no kids!!!

Formula 1 RULES!!!

Want to find what he likes?
Wait for a year... The US Grand prix at Indianapolis ended 3 weeks ago. With a Ferrari double. Hopefully this doesn't happen next year.

F1. This year's race in U.S (Indianapolis) got over just now and if you can wait for one more year that would be the best tickets you can get him.
