hmmm. . .We named our husky Wolf, because he looks like a Wolf.
We named one of our cats Shadow, because she always hides.
We named another Dreamcicle, because he's cream and white, like a Dreamcicle popcicle.
We named one cat Gigi (short for Gandolf the Grey), because he's grey.
We named one Cosmos, because we found him dropped off in our flower pot on our porch.
We named one Sebastion, but we call him Booboo, because he's special.
We named one Destiny, because we found her outside by pure chance, or so it seemed. . .
We named one Whisper, and I don't know why.
And we named one Ghost Dance Spirit. . .Because it totally fit him.
So, yeah. . .

Let's see, I've had a black rabbit, named Midnight, an orange tabby, named Ginger, and a white rabbit, named Star wow I'm creative!
I've also had a cat named Cleo, a bunny named Beatrice, another tabby named Mavrick (he was a spitfire) so it's a little of both.
The worst was when we named my bunny's crippled baby, Lightning.

Bear came with her name and since she was 4 years old, we kept it. We adopted Shadow from the local humane society and named him that because he is scared of everything and follows me around like my shadow.

My cats are named Mami and Bebe ( "mother" and "baby" in my language). They are not mother and son, but he is younger than her and when we took him she acted like his mother. That's how their names came. But usually I name my pets with human names which I like (for example I had cat named Stella).

I named my cat "Isis" after the Egyptian Princess. I figured she had an Egyptian look, plus she's snotty, so it works well for her.

She was laying on my bed and I glanced down at the bed sheets, they had lillies on them. It doesn't suit her at all. She's an American pit. It's just a pretty name.

hmmm... i had a dog before i named "ratcliffe" i got the name from the disney movie "pocahontas". i think i gave him his name because he is somewhat like that character from that movie. he's a funny dog -- he is smaller than average, but he's got muscles! and he's a bully.
another dog i named "crista" from "fern gully" -- she is so girly, so i guess it suits her.
then the other one is named by my mom -- "patches" -- i don't know if it suits her, i guess it does ... she's like a puppy at heart
