We talked about it before and he wants to give me a nice wedding party and to me his love and commitment will make me happier than having the best wedding out there.. what do u think?? I would love for him to propose for my birthday next month which is also our 5th year anniversary..

Just because you get engaged doesnt mean you have to set a date right away. Best thing to do, get engaged and stay that way for a year maybe even too. Men dont understand that LOL, they think as soon as you get engaged you have to get married next month which ISNT TRUE!! You take time having that type of a commitment, which is the best time to make sure it is what you want.
Tell him you want to be engaged for a while, so he should get too it.
My friend is in the same situation and it has been 9 YEARS!! 9!!! thats crazy with no serious commitment. I have been with my boyfriend for one year almost two and im expecting it for christmas. But my man knows there will be a 4 year wait, until im done school.
So let him know it doesnt mean you have to get married next week!
